While you’re trying to get your AI app to work with flakey connectivity on an edge server with no UPS, you may hear annoying security questions. As edge projects take off, developers must deal with challenges unique from the cloud or data center. How do we build a security framework if there is no secure perimeter & we can’t trust hardware, software, or users? How can basic lifecycle tasks be handled with diverse hardware types at scale? How do we develop for environments that may include limitations like intermittent connectivity & low bandwidth? This session will provide tips to navigate these challenges and build a secure edge app framework. Learn about EVE-OS, a lightweight, open source OS built for the distributed edge. The flexible EVE-OS addresses common edge issues such as avoiding software & firmware attacks in the field, ensuring security & environmental consistency with unsecured or flaky network connections, and deploying & updating applications with limited bandwidth.
