This talk showcases the impact of interoperable network APIs on cutting edge 5G use cases. This session will dive into two demonstrations Verizon conducted in 2023 and their technical architecture. Developers will understand real-life use cases that are being fueled by the Open Network APIs and the future of the ecosystem. One demo hosted a world's first experience, showcasing the impact of 5G and Edge Compute on a remote music collaboration use case. Using the Edge Discovery API, which enables devices to identify and connect to the Mobile Edge Compute (MEC) site providing the lowest latency closest to them, syncing guitar players across USA (Verizon), Canada (Rogers), and England (Vodafone). The second demo showcased a first ever transatlantic real time 5G holographic meeting, connecting multiple people across continents as holograms. The EDS API amplified the product performance, enhancing holographic experience.
