The intersection of AI and open source networking is an area of tremendous opportunity. In my lightning talk, I will delve into the realm of "AI for Network" through the lens of Mentor, a cutting-edge tool redefining how we evaluate and enhance open source repositories. Mentor serves as an innovative solution, leveraging advanced AI/ML algorithms to meticulously scrutinize, understand, and repair repositories. By making use of Mentor's capabilities, the community is able to fortify the security layers, elevate the quality of service, and enhance the reliability of open source networking solutions. We can also understand where we should be prioritizing development, and which dependencies may lead to problems. This novel approach not only streamlines operations but also paves the way for a robust infrastructure capable of meeting the demands of 5G deployment, government infrastructure development, and business automation—while fostering a collaborative environment for industry-wide learning and advancement.
